Problems with Quidco site and other sites

Hello

When trying to click on certain links on quidco whether in IE or Mozilla Forefox, I am coming back with errors as below, I am also finding this error on certain Offeroftheday links as well.

clkuk.tradedoubler.com/cli…602

The page displays the following message:

No matter how many times I try, I get this message - could someone help please!

Thanks Kaits

Just did as advised on the link, but problem is still happening! just annoying as want to save through quidco, but something wont let me link to the merchant!

Likely you have a custom HOSTS file created by antivirus or internet security software that is redirecting the IP and breaking the link from resolving.

Hi

I have Bullguard which came with the PC - it is antivirus and firewall. Have tried turning them off and opening the links before, but still the same problem! so turned them back on

hmmmm...... never used bullguard ........ gonna do a google on this problem

Hmm here's a bit of a complicated explanation:

en.wikipedia.org/wik…ile

If you check there how to find the file (depends what OS you are running) then find it, open it up and see if it has any entries. If it has loads of entries that is likely your problem. Post back here and someone can help.

ok lets check if its a DNS problem try cl]http//21…602icking on this and let me know if it works or this ]http//21…79/

OK..according to Windows XP, I should be looking here:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\DataBasePath

I got to Parameters but the databasepath was not there to check!

Hi Kaits

The first link did not work, and the second link did...and Sheilas Wheels was the site I was trying to access via quidco lol!

it's definitely not a DNS issue something is wrong with the clicktracking. So maybe you need to contact Quidco mention this so they can see. Have you had this problem with tracking deals before?

Yes have had this issue a couple of times - and also when clicking on links on offer of the day - such as a twin tub washing machine at argos which is on the todays best link...the link takes me here tkqlhce.com/int…ive?sid=org&url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0198541/c_1/1|category_root|Sports+and+leisure|10199392/c_2/2|cat_10199392|Camping+and+caravanning|10199393/c_3/3|cat_10199393|Other+camping+accessories|10199408.htm&pid=2010640&aid=10294381&cjsku=5363003

with an error message

Also, if you search for something on google via ie, you usually get a couple of sponsored links at top of page, I cannot open thos nor the links on the side of the page

i have used quidco thru argos etc fine today ....... hmmmm

press
ctrl + shift + esc

the windows task manager will pop up

there will be a series of tabs
Applications
Processes
Services click "Processes" tab

there will be a list of exe's on the left
you can sort them alphabetically by clicking "Image Name"

click on "Bulldog.exe"
once you highlight it

RIGHT click
a menu will pop up
then click on "end process"

restart the browser
login to quidco

and see if the links work

just trying it without any Bullguard processes running at all.
