Problems with SVP, how do I claim cashback with VISA?

Morning everyone. I bought two laptops from SVP.co.uk and they weren't as described so contacted them to arrange sending them back, they sent the perosn to pick them up at the wrong time, so we arranged it for yesterday but no-one turned up, despite us staying in all day.
Have emailed them to ask them to pick it up today but they are not answering emails.
So I bought it with my visa, so I wanted to know what it's called when you claim cash back from a dodgy retailer and having checked the visa website it says you can claim it for an item not being as descibed.
I've emailed my bacnk to ask about the process. BUt what's it called, it's bugging me!

it's called a charge-back
but I would ring up and speak to SVP again - never had a problem with them

section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. A breach of contract by the retailer makes the credit card company jointly and severally liable for breaches of contract committed by a supplier who has accepted the credit card in payment for the goods

You don't need to know what it's called, just describe what you have said here.

Managed to find a number from them online, but went through to some random guy who says he's been getting lots of calls from people asking about SVP over the past 2 days. All saying their not answering emails.

Doesn't sound good. Have already emailed bank, so we'll see what they say. Just a bit panicky as I've already ordered another 2 laptops from Dell and don't really have much use for 4 laptops, 2 of which weren't what I wanted in the first place!

OK, so they're just ignoring me, very annoying! If I get desperate, I only live in Dundee, so can drive through to Edinburgh and hand them back and demand a refund, I suppose!

Try emailing Steve at "][email protected]

Thanks, have sent an email to him. Rep left!

Why not just drop them off at the depot yourself then you don't have to wait in for collection.

Never had a problem with SVP, in fact last time I had a faulty item they sent a new one and told me to keep the old one so they def are a good company.

Apparently they've been taken over by a new company though, did a quick google and they've been taken over.

well i got email this morning to say items been dispatched and they got here at about 2pm

everything 100% this is my first order was £100 worth of stuff been buying this kind of items for years and for my first order this site surpases all the other companies

i would highly recommend this company and will be using them from now on

the postage is disgraceful really and should be sorted out £40 of my £100 spend was postage i will look for cheaper alternative but if they sorted out postage i would never leave and i feel this is the same reactions from alot of their old buyers after reading alot about them
