Problems with the bay - need some closure thanks guys.

Here's a quick backdrop of what's happened recently, just need someone to let me know if it's gonna be alright or if i need to do something about it. Cheers guys.

I've been looking for the Gavin and Stacey series on DVD, and saw a few listings up on ebay. I put in a small bid on a few (only like 10p more than the previous bidder) and didn't realize but i'd won all 5!!

I contacted all the ones that i couldn't pay, and payed the one that i wanted to. He said he'd recieved the payment and it was all fine and he'd get it out to me soon.

However as i was looking around my account (don't use ebay much) it seems that they'd taken a monthly ebay invoice of a fiver from my bank. I wasn't too sure what this was, and the first google page that came up when searching was 'the monthly ebay invoice scam!'

I immediately worried and contacted ebay asking whether that was them deducting money from me or whether i'd been hacked. They almost immediately replied with 'you've been hacked' and have cancelled all my bids on all items (which was lucky as i couldn't pay them) but at the same time i got a paypal e-mail saying that the money i had payed for the DVD is under some sort of watchful eye.

I also cannot re-activate my account today, because the stupid 4 digit phone call pin thing didn't work. And when it rang my phone it kept saying 'if you want to recieve this call, press 0' and i would. It would pause, then ask again. I kept responding and pressing '0' until it eventually hung up on me.

So basically, does the seller still have my money (as on my side it's showing as yes) and will he still be allowed to send me the item or will he have gotten a message from paypal telling him to wait?

    Cheers.

    I would appreciate any advice.

you should be able to extract the sellers email from paypal, if you don't know it. so explain the situation and ask him if he has it or if it's been reversed. if it has then i suggest you just find some other method to pay, either a friend's pp account, or bank transfer, or even send him one of those ye olde fashioned cheques

    EDIT: Ooh my 200th post

Thanks man what a good 200th post, will try that now.

Next time don't bid on many items at once if you don't plan to buy them.....just saying it can be a problem for buyer and seller.

Yeah i was an idiot, but there were like 5 bids on each one, and it was only at £2.03.

    So i thought i'd be outbid at £2.23 but i wasn't.

    Shame
