Proper toilet seat

Found 8th Aug
Hi all, I’m fed up of buying cheap plastic rubbish toilet seats, that don’t last. Can anyone recommend any decent toilet seats and where to get some, that come with decent fixings that will last? I know it’s my fault but I also want value! Much appreciated

I find it's the fixings that are the real problem not the seat itself
We have Roca sanitary ware in our holiday lets and I feel your pain. Holidaymakers seem to break everything. Since fitting Roca soft close loo seats we've not had issues. 10 ish years and still going strong despite a million bums having been on them!

They will be cheaper at your local builders merchant/bathroom specialist.

I wish. As I said, they are cheaper elsewhere. Yes they are more expensive, but if they last x times more than cheap ones, they do the job (so to speak and no pun intended!)
The best one we ever had was from b&q and the make was bemis.
Look at Screwfix. The soft close ones are very good, and quite cheap too. Excellent fixings. Don't have to pay a fortune for decent quality.

That toilet seat costs more than I've earned in 2 years.

You mean more than you’ve declared in 2 years.

Well if you’ve not earned more than £150 odd quid in 2 years. Either your aren’t earning or declaring. You can judge which one is true.
Thanks all, will try screwfix, I’ve had some from IKEA and Argos, granted they weren’t wooden so that might be plan B, see how it goes! I’ve got kids who sit on my lap after a bath so need something sturdy!
We have one from Costco it's a soft close one plus you can remove the seat easily for washing. Think it comes with a 15 year warranty too. Cost about £30

Thanks for the suggestion, it's out of my price range but you never know. I'll try the suggestions below and see how it goes first
Been there, done that!

Avoid the ones with the plastic fittings and you will be fine.

I got a very good one from here for a tenner:

It will all depend on shape and fixings on whether it will fit or not... I used to work in a plumbers merchants/bathroom place some years ago.

A good standard shape one would be something like the roper Rhodes neutron. Can fix from above or below, soft close & quick release fixings for easy cleaning. Have a measure of your toilet and have a look on the roper Rhodes site for all their seat measurements.
Thanks for the advice

Bought this yesterday, easy install with snap off bolts to prevent cross thread/over tightening. Well made and solid, also looks good! Cheer
