As an easy way round, I use anybrowser.com/sit…tml

It gets me around work firewalls, and displays the text on a blocked page, but not necessarily the graphics or the original page layout. If your course is one on webdesign, that'll be a bit pointless. If you just need text, i's all gravy.

The daddy of tools though, is Torpark (now called xB Browser it seems - en.wikipedia.org/wik…ark). It uses an onion which kinda gives multiple proxy layers to a connection to help you get round filters. It usually comes bundled with a copy of Firefox, which fires up once the successful connection is made - although that can take 10 minutes or so. Pages are slow to load with it, but it works...or certainly it did when i last used it a couple of years back...Google it...

there all blocked even sirbargins links

when the computer boots this comes up in comand promt anyway to remove it

Regedit /s cilentproxy.reg

Dude - download Torpark on a PC where it isn't blocked - then save it on a memory stick. You can run it form the memory stick too. Bob's your uncle and Fanny's a rude word...

They obviously scrape proxy.org master list then!

Presumably the PC is networked in which case it will likely be running that command from a bat file on startup, not a great deal you can do about it. My only suggestion would be to get a domain and some webspace and make your own proxy using a script like glype, easy to setup. Only problem you may have is if they have blocked attributes relating to Glype or PHPproxy or the like. They may also actively monitor net usage and block and proxy like scripts!

Ahh the joys of trying to manage network integrity :P It's my day job!

sounds like they might of put on a word check as well type some random addy like fakeproxy, com and see if that is blocked (its not a site btw) if it comes up blocked theve done a blanket ban on thw word 'proxy'

these days firewalls block via various methods including wordlists, ACLs which are updated around every 4 hours and 'super sense' blocking in which the website is checked using intelligent software and can see how the website works, ie detecing it as a proxy
