PS3 60gb backwards compatability

Hi All,

Just a quick one as I don't know. I have an old 60gb PS3 that has backswards capability to play ps1 and ps2 games. To save data for the PS1 & 2 games, can they be saved straight to the hard disk or do you need to buy and adaptor for it and the old memory card?

Thanks for your time!

It saves on the HD.

saves on hard drive. basically you create a virtual memory card that was used on the ps1/ps2

Wicked, just what I was hoping for, just bought Max Payne 1 & 2 from CEX for £3.00! Want to relive my memories! Thanks, rep added to you both!

If you already have a memory card from a previous Playstation console (excluding the PSP range), you can buy a dedicated card reader.

I had to buy an official Sony PS3PS2 memory card device directly from Japan as the items were not available in the UK at the original European launch date, but you can buy the official products in the UK as well as a variety of third party products (like those ]listed at Amazon.co.uk).

Will you be looking to buy "Max Payne 3" when it is released for the PS3 in the latter half of 2010 (exact date still unconfirmed)?

PS. All PS3 consoles can play original Playstation (PS1, if you insist) titles for their local region of release ("PAL" being that used in the UK).

BFN,

fp.
