No, its only the 60GB version that does.

I had the same question, found out they didn't so i went the xbox's. Shame as my boys have so many ps2 games they cant use now.

But the XBox can't play the PS2 games either so dont understand the logic !

I have the 60gig version, even then it only plays selective ones, for example Ratchet & Clank it won't touch and the ones it does play are often bugged.

That said - who cares? with the current games available I never went back to my PS2 even though I kept it, it's gathering dust along with the 60 games I have for it.

I have the Xbox 360 too, bought it before the PS3 but that's gathering dust too since the PS3 is far better and cheaper in the long run.

Get one either way I say, 2 very decent budget release games for £30 in a lot of places and some damn good games in the bargain bins of Curry's for a tenner, plus the cheap online stuff.

    (hmm - I really should sell my 360 & PS2 lol)

Only the original 60GB PS3 has the required hardware - it's missing from all the other versions.

BTW If your getting the 80GB for the extra HDD capacity just a word of caution - I got a 60GB and mine is full already, with playTV just out I'm guessing I wanna upgrade to 250/320GB HDD - at least.

I've had my PS3 since launch and give it pretty casual usage besides PlayTV usage since it came out.

Amazing how much room a few demos/albums/videos take

nope, even the orginal 60gb can't do it properly
