My ps3 is 6 months old max, and since yesterday I can't go online. Lets me for 2 mins then fails. Is it a common problem?

maybe the channel on the router did it to me just go in change normally set to auto(which mine would always choose 6). change to manual and then change the channel.

if it does it on a cabled connection that's stable, there's an issue. but more than likely it's a wireless coverage issue. if so, I'd consider running a cable or getting some 'homeplug' adapters if it's awkward for a cable run...

Its wireless and doing my nut in! Everything else is fine, laptops etc. Never had a prob before and cant use a cable as router is opposite side of room and tv is huge and hung on wall

run a connection test in network settings, it looks like it can't connect to websites and resolve the DNS (addresses). Had a similar problem on PC, but think it just started working after lol.
I would defo try it cabled, even if it's a 10M cable that runs along the skirting board etc, far superior!

also random thing you could try while researching the error: check the encryption settings on the wireless router, if it is WPA try changing it to the less secure (still fine imo) WEP, because I used to have issues connecting when I had WPA on my router until i changed it

edit: try both WEP 64-bit and 128-bit methods.

just get a long cat5e cable rather than use wireless as much faster and more stable. dunno what having the tv on the wall has to do with anything. cable goes into ps3!

I really would not advise this. 64 bit WEP can be cracked in seconds. 128 bit only buys a few seconds more.

Just rang o2 and they told me how to change channel so giving that a go but have no idea which one to pick oO

try each extreme and the middle. but unless you've neighbouring networks on the same frequencies it may not help (or may 'stop working' again when one of them changes their channel etc...)

if it's practical, cabling is the best approach.
