Hi

I have searched for this answer on the web but no luck.

On my PS3 some movies do not play the sound - picture is ok but no sound - however on my PC there is no problem - anyone got a fix ? This happens to the same movie if it is either streamed, played from USB or even copied to the PS3.

File format is Avi - well I think it is - I took it off Properties

actually says Type fo file :Video Clip (.avi)

My PS3 has the latest software.
Thanks in advance.

lol - no

It's probably got DTS audio or some format your TV/receiver can't decode.

Without knowing what format the movie is can't do anything but guess.

? no idea what I would be looking or how to fix it.
Navigate to the file, press triangle and select Information.
Look at the details and then report back with what it says about the sound.

Only then can people answer your question.

Doesn't that manifest itself by displaying a message?
Not sure as I don't play movies on my PS3.
