OK, i got my ps3 the other day. Its very quiet. But when i get up real close to it, there is a slight fan/clikcing noise. Is there a problem with my machine?

yeah it's not an xbox!.. :giggle: (this is a joke, to all those fanboys potentially offended)

There should be a slight fan noise but I don't think there should be any clicking although I don't know what hard drives they are currently using.

if i have time ill record the sound with my phone. One more thing, on a 32' LCD tv with you notice the difference when watching a blu ray film in either 1080p or 1080i?

i received my ps3 the other day, no noise really that i notice other than the fan when i am up close. and i watched eragon on my 42" plasma in 1080i and it looked fantastic.

i cant hear anything when my ps3 on. only when i put my ear right close to it. ill go check my ps3 right now and tell u if there is a clicking sound.

only when it starts i can hear a small clicking noise but then it goes after a 10 secs.

you would not notice difference unless it was a very fast moving film.but on such a small screen it would not make any difference at all.if it was a 46inch+ size tv then you would see a difference.1080i is upto 30 frames per second and a 1080p is upto 60frames per second i believe

so would a blu ray disk still look good on a 32" in 1080i?

i reckon you will easily see a difference between a std dvd and a blu-ray. easily! just take advantage of lovefilms many free trials and view some. i am
