    PS3 problem. Help please!!

    My PS3 switches on, but after one minute, it switches itself off. The red light flashes continously. From reading the manual, it indicates that it is overheated, but the console has been switched off for some time, including all night!!. I believe it is out of warranty, so presumably, may be costly to repair? Does anyone have anysolutions?

    made several attempts to blow the vents, but still not working. I am assuming that it is out of date, as we purchaesd it nearly 2 years ago. Does anyone know if the warranty is for 12 months or longer. I do still have the Receipt.

    you could purchase the continious play, wait a couple months, then claim on it.

    If it's the 40gb drive model then it has a built in dust removal mode which reverses the fans at high speed to blow out the dust : :thumbsup:

    * Turn off your ps3.
    * Turn off the power in the back VIA the power button.
    * Hold the eject button keep holding it.
    * While holding the eject button, turn on the power switch in the back of your ps3.

    what about this thread....seems to indicate out of warranty is not a problem??

    Out of Warranty isn't a problem, Sony seem to be pretty good with their customer service, give 'em a bell, explain the problem and chances are they will sort it all out F.O.C. (or at least they did in my case).
