    PSN Ebay Sellers - Avoid

Bought a 50$ PSN card of ebay, yes $ I use a us account as its cheaper for titles, I used ebay as I thought I would be protected, I had to send a picture of my ID and me with my ID, which is fine.. and went to enter code and it would not work, opened a dispute straight away fuming, 5 days later a letter came through it was tracked and was just a print out of the code, ebay decided in there favor because they had tracking of it delivered.

so if anyone wants to send stones instead of macbooks aslong as you got tracking your covered apparently... also ebay does not protect you on virtual items on ebay so they have no duty bound reason to protect you

I had it in my head that non-tangible items aren't eligible for buyer protection?

Same here, i think its the same reasons why e-codes could not be sold on the FT forums on HUKD

Yeah I heard that as well.

But avoid Ebay is sensible advice, generally.

I think you would need to claim the item is faulty or not genuine. u need the REAL code not a printout. You could always try and resolve with PayPal.. especially if u used a card to pay

Also leave neg feedback. does it say no returns, you could always return recorded delivery. that way u may get a refund

I know your not actually allowed to sell items that arnt in physical form.. no codes, links, emails, etc.. people still do it but it's not allowed on eBay and so they will not give you buyer protection. Unless you weren't aware it was not a physical item then you will have a case.
I would call eBay and speak to them and tell them the situation. You might get better help with it that way.. good luck with it

because ebay sided with the buyer they removed my negative feedback, so most likely the seller has hundreds on negs but ebay remove them cause they provided 'tracking'

That's terrible. Why not try speaking to eBay on the phone. That may help? was it a US listing? Or UK?

EBay usually side with the buyer.. So you will have to be really unlucky not to get a refund.
    Just ensure you fully explain.

If you did not receive a real code then that's the first thing I'd address. If the code was already scratched off then say that. etc. You can also upload pictures of what you received..

    Good luck.

It's weird that in the us you can't buy these on ebay atall but in the uk we can buy £ and us, like is this a country law or just sellers would get to many 'false claims' then the uk... ( are we more honest?)

OP same thing happened with me but for xbox credit in £.

They refused me too... until I tweeted at them complaining. They made an "exception". You should try that.

Raise a PayPal dispute. You might have to call them to open it as it will see you've opened an EBay dispute.

    I'd return it lol

Ebay on the phone is even worse. I sold a perfectly working phone in like new condition. The buyer returned it (luckily) claiming faulty and not as described. The lady on the phone from the appeals told me to appeal ebay decision that sided with the buyer. I did that while she was on the phone and after literally 2 minutes she said the appeal panel has rejected the appeal. When i asked if they want proof of the phone working she said no.

Ebays customer service and appeal panel is automated in my opinion and the reps dont like dealing with any queries.

I sold some shorts and the guys girlfriend raised an item as not described case saying they didn't fit her boyfriend and he's been the same size for a while. So it's my item.

I took pictures of the item with a tape measure and they were at a push even 2" - 3" more giving than I'd described..

EBay saw the pics but still ruled with the buyer as item not as described..

This was on a no returns item, meaning I had to pay return postage and pay the original postage costs back.

The buyer even made up other stuff on me proving the size was correct and I was concerned they were going to rip or unpick some stitching. As the reply was "well I still want a refund anyway, there are other faults with them".

Luckily for me she never actually returned them. But eBay still knocked me a few % off my seller standards.. I have 100% positive feedback.
