I am considering buying a PSP 3000 but more for a portable media player than anything else. I have an Archos 605 but am wondering if the PSP can do all the Archos can?

I have searched the net but can't find much....So....

1. Does the PSP 3000 have a browser for surfing the net, for that matter does it have wifi?
2. What video formats can it play? AVI? H.264? VC1? etc etc
3. What's the battery life like?
4. How big is the internal memory? or is it only MS Pro Duo?
5. Can you connect the PSP to a TV?

I like the idea of having a PSP as I can also connect to my PS3 over wifi and watch TV programs I have recorded on Playtv.

If you have a PSP can you help me with these question....even Sony's own PSP website doesn't have the answers.

Thanks, Rep given for help

I guarantee it does.

Personally I would get a 2000 mopdel matey, you can do a LOT more on a 2000 than you can on the 3k at the moment!!

Mike..

yes it has a browser, and yes it does have wifi
Battery life approx 3 hours
You will need a memory card
You can connect it to a tv
not sure on what file formats it plays, probably same as the ps3

1. Does the PSP 3000 have a browser for surfing the net, for that matter does it have wifi?
Yes it has a browser and uses Wi-Fi

2. What video formats can it play? AVI? H.264? VC1? etc etc
Havent tryed it but i defo plays MP4

3. What's the battery life like?
I got about 4-5 hrs of play

4. How big is the internal memory? or is it only MS Pro Duo?
Only MS pro Duo sized cards, be carfull as there are some fake cards about - not sure about internal memory, i dont think it has any.

5. Can you connect the PSP to a TV?
yes with a cable!

As above I dont think you can mod your PSP yet to play back-up games.

1) It has WiFi and has an inbuilt internet browser - not a very good one though.
2) It plays MPEG4
3) My PSP lasts about 5 hours
4) No internal memory just Pro Duos - think the highest you can get is 8gb (although it could be 16gb)
5) Yes you can connect it to the tv via some AV cables that have to be bought seperately specifically designed for the PSP
