Evening all. Got a jack russel puppy a couple of months back. All was going well with training apart from the odd wee accident

Problem now is although he is pooping outside hes started peeing inside for no reason. Sometimes he will pee on us when hes sittin with us on the couch

Weve no idea why this has started anybody come across this or have any advice. Cheers all

The more they get to know you the more excited they are by just being around you.
Don't tell him off when he starts to go in the wrong place, as quickly as you can get him to the garden/outside, make sure he gets lots and lots of praise and a treat or two when he goes at the correct time/place and he will soon get the idea.

Hell be getting to know the back garden pretty well if this carries on lol
Take him outside every 15 mins, and don't go back inside till he's done his business.

We did this with out Lab pup, and she had maybe 3 accidents in total, ever.

Weve noticed today it seems to be excitement causing it. It happens even when hes just been. Worse really as if it was a training thing would of been easily fixed as he was pretty much trained and usually asks out for his toilet

We live in the highlands and it seens to coincided with the snow coming im wondering if the cold is causing it xxxx

You've probably answered your own question ;). My brothers got a staffy cross Jack Russel and he used to get excited and pee quite a lot, So did it's siblings from the same litter, even the females.

From research it's usually being submissive, They usually grow out of it, my brothers improved after having his balls chopped but still occasionally dribbles when getting excited. He doesn't like the cold either, Refuses to go out when it's cold or raining etc.. Which can be a problem if they need the toilet. There bladders aren't as good as an adults. However they can sometimes do it due to kidney/bladder infections/problems, so seek advice from a vet if you think that might be a possibility.
