    Don't do it

Unless its a close relative not a chance! You will have no recourse whatsoever...

no no no no no !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no protection at all but its not like he can empty your account or anything so you would only loose the amount you send

Right. I figured that with it being the same bank, if anything happened, i could then put a failsafe net up.. Obviously not! Do chargebacks not worth with bank transfers?

I have dropped the interest. Was someone selling an Iphone 3GS 32GB, for £320. Was too good to be true. He said that his car was the reason for sale and he could lose his job... And that he couldn't take pictures of the phones(selling 2) as they were at his mams. But had pictures of a receipt that you couldn't even see... all that sent alarm bells.

He would have no problem cash in hand but resorts to selling online

I have just asked if i sent him £10 to cover postage here.. i will then give him the money on arrival. If not, the deal is of. I have more to lose than he does... if i have a police record, i will probably get told to leave the course at university. Then bam goes alot of potential in my career with a criminal record.

I purchased one from eBay instead via bank transfer. But DHL are cockups and have actually give the parcel to the wrong person who delivers in Darlington, not Boro.. so i have to wait till Tuesday now.
