not me personally but driver went into a wall opposite my house.
Thankfully mother and daughter were both ok.

took the dog to the vets today after an little scrap with our other dog and the last 20 metres driving on a non gritted road my car skidded round the corner and almost hit what looked like a spanking new Audi Q7.

last time it snowed I managed a 360 without crashing. Good times.

    cool a numptys thread.....

lol i've driven nearly 700 miles in last couple of days and not seen any snow at all

I decided to skid my car down a hill into an on coming van last year...!!!

He never claimed on insurance, I only had third party insurance and only cost me about £100 to fix so I live and learn.

Nothing I could do at the time, It'd stopped, But dam gravity took over lol.

    Fitted winter tyres.

    No skids, just great grip!

got my very first driving lesson slated for today 10am. how bout that?

I came off gritted roads onto compacted snow on my estate, braked and kept on going.

In my first car a £75 fiesta in 2001, I did a 360 and got stuck in mud, a kind bloke pulled me out.

In my current car few years ago tapped the brakes ever so gently and went straight on into a high curb, bent the front wishbone, had to get put on the back of truck, cost £250 to get fixed.

Over the years I have had some interesting moments driving in snow. I have had a skid when the car lurched one way and then the other as I attempted to correct it. But one of the most scary moments I have had was when driving in town through ungritted sidestreets when the car just started to slide and although it was going very slowly just continued and continued. It is sometimes better to not drive if its not necessary as the chance of a collision whether your fault or not greatly increases.

not been out in the snow this yr but have had too many scary things happen when i drive in snow....everything seems to go in slow-mo when u r doing a 360 down a steep hill!

had trouble driving up a steep hil yesterday bit of swaying but managed it, few years ago when the snow was bad i was in my ex's bmw and we went down a snowy hill sideways....now that was scary

Oh I forgot the time I was doing 70 on the motorway and snow was covering the outside lane, I started to slide but managed to get grip again...I slowed down after that.

Somebody nearly crashed a volvo outside my house yesterday.

    SLOW DOWN

The amount of idiots who i have seen with frozen up windscreens and windows and snow covered cars with the drivers trying to peek through a small gap of light is ridiculous !!!!

    What is wrong with people?!

CLEAR YOUR CARS PROPERLY BEFORE ENDANGERING OTHER PEOPLE AND THIER CARS / PROPERTY !!

But its not just you on the road. Besides over confidence can be dangerous. Better to just keep a healthy respect for the conditions.

    Hope you are ok a3lawy

Never had any problem in the snow in my car, work van (vivaro) is different weighted down in the back with all the gear. Should really have snow chains for my van but employer won't supply them. Still the winter roads in Bosnia with minefields either side was worse. Just remember high gear low revs, I remember that and haven't had much of a problem.

can't get out, we're trapped, but when dh came home yesterday morning from an attempt to travel he parked in his usual place in the garden, then noticed an hour later the car had gone, it had slid down the hill towards next doors rockery.

No we've been lucky enough to avoid crashing the car - but then again if we could even get INTO the damn thing we might do X)

Crumbs - I thought that was your sledge at first glance.

No Marina - it's my stepson's. That's just out in front of our garden (which has a monoblock driveway and grass etc to the side not that you would even know from this). If you step off the front step the snow goes up to your backside. We've cleared it three times since Saturday but no point as same again next day. Road is the same - no one getting in or out. OH has the car way out in the main street but its just as bad. No gritters since Saturday. That's today's pic - we've been monitor the depth of the snow every day up the side of the car lol.

Oh noooooo, sounds really bad kaks! Hope it melts soon then.

Just glad I don't have to drive anywhere unlike some of the poor folk in this thread. Keep safe people.
