'puter old memory

My desktop is a approx 5 yrs old. Need to update the memory 'cause its getting slow - currently...304Mb with AMD processor.

Problem is, cannot find spec sheet / receipt with details of what type of memory it has, the older stuff or the newer DDwhatever. I suspect older. I could take out the memory and take it to puter shop and get it replaced but not really any good deals to be had. Have seen great deals on E buyer. Any advice appreciated

You'll almost certainly want DDR RAM
