Pyramat PM1900 Cobra Gaming Chair Advice Needed

Found 10th Oct 2009
Im considering buying this chair as it has a flat base and Im thinking about placing it on top of a footstool to give it some height so that I can use it with my steering wheel stand as the other pyramat chairs all seem to have a curved base which im not keen on.

Ive noticed on the picture on boysstuff.co.uk website that there seems to be a metal bar under the front of the base, anyone know it its just at the front or does it surround the entire base of the chair and if so what are the dimensions of the bar so that Im 100% positive that it will fit on top of the footstool with out any problems.

Also is there forcefedback on tis chair or is that what the built in Subwoofer does?

Thanks in Advance

my son has one of these gaming chairs and I dont think putting it on a stool is a good idea as his rocks and would go flying over backwards.

they are fantastic these chairs and def get one!

I have an X Rocker erm for my son!!!!!

I bought a stand for it, so it still rocks etc, but it is off the floor, more of a conventional chair height.

How much was the stand and where did you get it from?

Thanks, mabye thats why the theres a metal bar under it to enable it to rock as in the picture I saw the seat looked completely flat.Is it the subwoofer that gives the forcefeedback effect to it?
Thanks

Is this what you mean?

I need to know the best way I can connect these things up.... so any cables can be hidden and fed from TV / consoles etc to the chair via the ceiling joists and chased in walls.

Thanks, yeah I saw the one at argos and was tempted to get it but my store doesnt have any in stock at the moment.I noticed that the argos chair is wireless so I think I can use the consoles with the HDMI cable as some chairs dont support the hdmi and have to be used through the standard sd conections.

yes thats the one!

that chair seems to be wireless (am not very good at technology btw!) my sons chair does have one cable that runs from chair and connects into socket on tv - what I have done to stop him tripping is simply put a rug over most of the wire.

I can actually hear him rocking about on his just now lol - sound truly is amazing!

From what Ive read on the net wireless chairs only need a power supply to power the chair which you will get with the chair you should also get a receiver which you conect to your console or device that you want to use the chair with and then you pair ot with the chair. The good thing about wireless connection is that you can use your hdmi connection on your ps3 etc whereas with some other chairs you have to use the standard digital connections (yellow, white, red cables) which wouldnt suit me as I use hdmi cables with my consoles on my plasma.Hope this helps

The argos chair uses batteries (not sure if you can use rechargables )and a wireless receiver which connects to the console or device you want to use the chair with the cobra chair I was enquiring about has a single cable which runns to the audio out on a tv and also I think there is an ac adaptor for the cobra chair to power the sub though Im not 100% certain. If you go to boysstuff.co.uk there are several questions and answers for the cobra chair but I cant find anything on the net about the xrocker that argos are doing.

LOL...... I'm more confused than before I started! Probably wise to nip into PC world or something similar.

WiFi sounds good for ease of use. But would it interfere with a wireless network for instance. (Its all going to be in a computer room, so it cant interfere.)

So how does this connect to a device thats gonna be broadcast? RCA or headphone? I'd need to be certain I guess that all devices that might be used can be connected. Or is it a case of the TV audio out thats the object connected for broadcasting?

IF you bought the pm1900 cobra chair (the chair that this thread is aimed at) you use a cable from the chair to the audio out (red, white connection from your tv) you could aLSO USE A HEADPHONE SOCKET THOUGH YOU MAY HAVE TO USE AN ADAPTOR SO THAT THE 2 PLUGS (WHITE AND RED) go into a single headphone jack but the sound prob wont be as good.

As for wireless im not 1005 sure you could check out avforums for advice or youtube and see if theres any vids on conecting a wireless chair.

OK Ta.

So basically I would have covered all the bases if I had an extra long RCA cable chased into the wall and ceiling joists? (I just dont want any cables visible - particularly around the TV and the area between the TV and chair!

Have an extra 3 orange rep bars BTW.....

Yeah I refer to rca cables as phono cables (red and white plugs at each end) also the cobra comes with a ac adaptor to conect to the chair to power it but I dont think that would be an issue for you.You may get a phono to headphone cable with the chair but I cant say for certain. As for the wireless chair from Argos im not sure if it would interupt any other wireless conections,I done some googling asnd cant find anything on the chair.

Heres the link for the cobra chair from boysstuff.co.uk ,theres also a few Q7A's at the bottom of the page, seems to be the best place to buy on the web from what ive seen. Hope this helps and thanks for the rep.
