Quality vacumn cleaner for around £50?

I snagged myself a Samsung vacumn cleaner from Tesco 4 months ago for around £50, down from around £90-100. Quality bagless machine.

I'd now like to get something similar as a gift for someone that has a cleaner from the 70s. I've seen the £40 models in Asda but don't really fancy the supermarkets' own brands. It was great to get a Samsung but they sold out from my local Tesco quickly.

Anybody seen any similar bargain anywhere? I'm thinking of trying the likes of TJ Hughes but if anybody happens to have seen something specific that would be great.

This looks a good buy ]Vax 1800w bagless upright £49.79 delivered.

It may not be delivered for xmas though, might be worth checking to see if they are available instore.

This is in stock for £10 more ]Electrolux 1800w bagless upright,so should get delivery for xmas.

    Hope this helps:santa:

    Thanks for that.

I hadn't heard of this Vax brand but it seems a few large stores are stocking it. Have also discovered several Hoover, Vax and Electrolux models on Tesco Direct so might well give them a try.

I don't fancy going down the £200 Dyson route but a mid-range cleaner should do the trick.

Shocked to find that I'm spelling it wrong, vacuum rather than vacumn? Where'd I get that from!?

Vax is a well known brand, they originally manufactured the 3 in 1 carpet shmpooers/cleaners.......the main brand of carpet shampooers sold when I first started in electrical retailing back in 1986!

I would say that Vax along with Electrolux,Hoover,Panasonic etc is a brand you can buy with confidence:thumbsup:
