Question about Wii channels - (NOW ANSWERED. PLS IGNORE).

We've had Wii Fit for a while now, but today for the first time it asked if we wanted to save it onto the Wii channels. We did so and it's now there. What are the advans / disadvans of doing this and can I do it with Wii Sports too? Thanks for any answers

Advantage is that you don't need the disk in the Wii to perform the 'daily' body test. If all you do is weigh yourself and perform the 2 balance tests to get your WiiFit age, then you can leave the Mario Kart disk in ready for a race straight afterwards

Disadvantage: When WiiWare comes out next week, you'll have less storage space to fit everything on, until USB HDDs become useable, if ever.

Thanks for that (rep added). Ok, well too late. I probably wouldn't have saved if I knew it was only for those tests - we always do more. Presume from what you've said that we still need to insert the disc to do more than those checks?

You presume correctly. Incidentally, if you had Mario Kart, you get the same 'add channel' option, allowing you to check stats, although not to race. It's something added into the newer games seemingly, as you didn't get the option in the earlier games (that I have anyway).

Thanks again  ... back to it then.
