    Question on car scrap scheme

I've looked all over and couldn't find a straight answer, hoping you guys can help...

I've got a March 2000 car, it has an MOT and all the paperwork is in order, however the engine blew the other and a replacement is about a grand.

My question is: Even without a functioning engine can I still apply for the 2000pound scrap allowance, assuming I want a new car?

    Any help is appreciated!

    car isnt ten years old.....

Your CAR or VAN (upto 3.5 ton) must be 10 years or older (registered no later than 31st July 1999), MOT'd, Taxed & you must have owned it for at least 12 months.

Someone mentioned on the other thread that SORN cars may be excluded. So would check before considering.
