A dressing gown is a bath robe that ties at the front....a housecoat was worn by ladies to do the housework in and is fastened with a zip or buttons

At first I was like "who the **** is that?"

And then I thought "hypocrite"

And then I changed my avatar back

Although I'm still getting an awesome bottle opener...
Housecoat? Dressing gown?

You are all common as muck in your fleece, terry towelling, flannelette and quilted cotton.

I wear a peignoir.

I was also going to wait until I got it, but the amount of times I have gone back to a thread and thought to myself "I'm sure I posted in here" it was getting a bit annoying
House coat, or as we say in Glasgow...hoose coat.
Housecoat was always used by family years ago, I call it a dressing gown but I think house coat is more appropriate, as in this weather when i get home I swap my outdoor coat for the dressing gown!!
I'm another weegie that calls it a house coat.
