If there are two job for example Manager and Senior Manager roles and you want to apply for Senior Manager but also been included for the Manager role should you send two applications or mention this at interview and apply for the more senior role?

So it didnt go against you?

you need to check their t&c i applied for ibm and you can only make 1 app, so if it doesnt say anything about it make how many you want, btw apply for the senior then if they feel your not good enough for thtat they will offer the manager

Apply just for the senior, if you apply for the lower one it looks you … Apply just for the senior, if you apply for the lower one it looks you don't feel confident to take the major role on

    This^^

I applied for a company as a assistant manager and at interview I got asked why I didnt apply for the Managers position instead, I told them honestly I didnt see the managers one advertised which I honestly didnt . After interview they offered me the Managers Role. If it helps If I Had seen it advertised I would of applied for it instead ( always aim high m8 ).

Just to add if you apply for the Managers and they dont think your suitable there not gunna offer you the Senior role , but if you apply for the Senior but one other person is slightly better suited to it than you they can at least then give you the Managers role, something to think about, good luck anyway .

How the heck did you work that one out?!

If not suitable for managers role - no chance of getting a senior manager role!

Most companies only accept one application, you put on the covering letter which job roles you're interested in.

Sorry guys I wrote it wrong didnt mean that at all Doh X)........now edited.

I would send in the application with a covering letter stating that you were interested in the serior position but during the interview at the end state - if you were not successful for the senior position you would be interested in the managers role - if you apply for the senior position if they didnt feel you were suitable for it at the processing stage they would look to see if they thought you were suitable for the managers one and in fact it would more than likely be them stating to you that if your werent successful would you consider the managers role without further interview

I would only apply for the Manager one as a senior manager wouldn't have to ask randoms on a shopping forum.

If I felt qualified for the senior role I would apply for that one only. Better to be specific about what you want and feel you can offer.
As said above, if they feel they have a better candidate for the senior role, but you interview well, they will ask if you would accept the junior position
