could use a stud finder/density measure...or the good old way of tapping the wall and hearing for a dead sound rather then a knock...or if you can see from anywhere (doubtful)

lol! Just need some x-Ray goggles! Cheers for your help awoodhall, off to tap the wall for a bit lmao! rep left for you all! Apart from the adhesive fella!!!

TBH you could screw into the main frame but i wouldn't as its putting alot of weight on it and its a high chance it will just fall of the wall lol. Your best putting it onto a brick wall.

if you are fixing directly into MDF and not plasterboard at 22 or 25mm it will be fine use 35x5 chipboard screws also it depends on the mount you are using

    agreed...

or you could build a strong false wall and attach it to solid walls, floor and ceiling, but sounds like more hassle then you probably want! (which reminds me my mum still wants a false wall installation so her tv is flush with the wall!)

if you are fixing to plasterboard and there is a solid wall behind it - cut a hole into the wall and mount it to the brick - go for the sunken effect - also hide all the cables this way too... ( just an idea.. )

    HOW UNGRATEFUL:x:x

When I had a Sony Bravia TV,it came with a manual and it also stated what brackets was recommended if putting on wall. I would get it properly put on wall by professionals also, they would be able to tell you if walls suitable or not.
Anyway you can always buy it,and if walls no good, put it on an unit.

We mounted ours on the wall, followed all the instructions, right mount and everything and it still came off (fortunately whilst we were there and managed to catch it).

Following advise from our builder, we got some really long screw rods from Wicks and it is now mounted on the wall by drilling right through to the outside and bolted from outside!!

Don't take any risks, I don't think MDF is strong enough.
