Found 29th Jan 2010
Hey, I just got a car and want to tax it, if I go to the post office will they give me a tax disc straight away or will it have to come through the post? I just want to drive my new car!!

You will get it striaght away aslong as you have valid insurance and MOT and money lol

you will probably need the log book as well, if you just brought it

.... and make sure its a PO that issues car tax

You get it over the counter then and there but be aware that not all P.O.s do road tax, only the bigger ones I think.

Oh meandog beat me to it!

i got caught out last time thinking I'd pop to nearest local one, queued for 10mins with a screaming toddler to be told they didnt issue car tax there, grrrrr

you will just get the small slip at the bottom of log book you will need to take that with the MOT and insurance and of course money
