    Quidco advice needed please

I've not used Quidco before and maybe I don't understand how it works, but I saw a deal on HUKD and purchased something, but the money they said that I'd be paid is nowhere near the amount that it said when I ordered the item.

Just after Christmas Quidco was offering £33 for Xbox Box One S consoles bought on the microsoft store, I followed the link and purchased it, and it tracked in my Quidco account (for a lower amount but it said it would fix itself by the time it got to confirmed). Today I just received an email saying it was confirmed and I could be paid, however it was only for approximately £4, not the £33 they stated when I made the order.

Is this normal behaviour? Was the £33 stated only a possible amount I could get up to? I'm very confused by this to be honest.

I used the form to submit a claim but is that likely to do actually anything?

    Sorry for all the questions.

need to check the small print on quidco they're always doing similar things and normally lower down will be something excluding something somewhere...
sounds like that's the case with you , but message them and ask them to check it and see what they say.

They're scam. I've stopped using them. They even have limited customer support for certain retailers. They offer cashback for shopto but it never tracks and you can never open a claim for it because they don't let you.

Usually it'll track at the lower amount (which is good as it shows they've got the record) and then increases once it becomes payable.

Top right hand corner of the page you'll see Support, get in touch with them and let them know what has happened and take it from there.

Mine tracked lower, and was confirmed today lower, so I have also raised a case.

Commonly you might find VAT and postage costs excluded from the amount on which cashback is calculated, but that wouldn't account for such a big discrepancy. Using 'unapproved' promotion codes can also potentially impact on cashback - but normally such that you wouldn't get any cashback at all, if that were the issue.

Best of luck with their support team - let us know how you get on!

It became payable today which is why I'm not sure what's going on.

Also that sucks for you too wowbiggy, I guess maybe it was tracking something different than the offer we wanted? I did see a huge amount in the list to select the correct offer when I opened my claim case.

I realise this might sound dumb and people will disagree but without that quidco offer it wasn't really a deal (at least to me) so if quidco has these problems I wonder why deals are allowed on HUKD with the quidco offers.

This seems more hassle to deal with Ah well, hopefully they'll fix it and I suppose £4 is better than nothing even if it's not what I wanted.

Aha right, sorry, I misunderstood you then. I'll just wait for support to get back to me, I didn't mean to complain so much

I've had this today, also. My original amount tracked at £4.04 which has become payable today. I, like yourself have also put in a claim for the original £33 stated.

Don't worry, as a collective, I'm sure together we can change the world

Quidco and HUKD share an owner

Hopefully it will be resolved. But that is the reason to find the cheapest retailer, then see if they do quidco, rather than the other way around.

Yeah a massive scam... that's why I've earnt nearly £2k in the years I have been using it. Mostly when things go wrong in my experience it's user error i.e. they've not read something properly or they've tried to use a voucher code as well.

Absolutely, cashback should be seen as an added bonus and NOT part of the price. Never expect it to payout, but hope it will and treat it as an additional bonus.

I've earner more from TCB and Complete Savings than Quidco. All I received from Quidco is to get my cashback declined or reducing the rates, i.e. they were offering £70 cashback for co-op bank account switch, I did it, it tracked at £70 and then when confirmed they reduced the amount to £48. Which part of this is my fault? That's scam.

I don't know the exact details of the offer you are claiming do I? As such I can't comment on what you might have done wrong.

But you should know about current offer with Microsoft store cashback and should be able to justify this is not the first time they're lowering the cashback rates for no reason. The co-op offer was posted on HUKD a few months ago and I wasn't the only one who did that. So just telling you they like to reduce the chunky cashbacks to skinnier ones. I totally respect it if you continue defending them but for me they're dead. Just waiting to receive my last payment from them and would not touch them again. TCB is much better and more transparent when it comes to claiming your right back.

That's fair enough. We're lucky there's lots of choice out there. I believe that Quidco and HUKD both have the same parent company as well...

Well I didn't know that probably that's why I got too much hate when I called them scam but there wasn't a better word... really

I don't use them now. TCB are more reliable.

That's the way I look at it too. Cash back is a bonus. If it doesn't track exactly as expected so be it. That said £33 is a bit different to £4.

Always close all your windows and clear your cookies before going to the quidco website. If you don't and you just click through using a link on here for example.....then the Quidco payout could go awol (it's all to do with affiliates and the cookies stored on your device).

Has anyone else here who mentioned they took up the same offer received any extra money yet?

I've asked quidco support a few times and they said they're trying to work it out with Microsoft and it will be added to my account when they get it, but they also say within a few days every time, and that's since I contacted them after I made this post.

I'm not sure if they're just trying to get rid of me or if something is actually going to happen.
