hi guys, i have a problem with quidco..

basically, a payment from last month which was £168 has been sent to a closed account i no longer have and im SURE i updated the details on quidco to make sure the payment went through before it got sent!

slightly worrying... ive been messaging them and said to wait 14 days, i have and still nothing.. they now say the payment has been recieved and to contact the bank!

are they having me on? is that even possible if the account is 100% closed? money from a savings account that was paying interest into the same account (the closed acc) have all been returned to the savings account..

what can i do?

talk to the bank, tell quidco what they say?

if I am right, Quidco pay payments by bacs. A bacs payment can only be credited to an account if the account is open at the time the payment is recieved, otherwise it will be returned on what is called an ARUCS report (Advise of returned unapplied credits) with a marked against your payment 'account closed'. The funds will be re-credited to the senders account in these circumstances.

If Quidco maintain that they have not had the funds back, and the bank say they are not in yourn account then you need to request that Quidco ask their sponsoring bank (all bacs users are sponsored by a bank to allow them to submit bacs payments as an organisation) to perform a trace report on the money. This traces where the money currently is - funds cannot get lost in bacs.
