Anyone know if this site is safe or had any experience with realgap.co.uk

It does work out quite expensive for the one im intrested in , but i fancy doing something from the norm for a change for my holidays...and ive always wanted to work with animals

Just wondered if anyone else has done it and if this site is ok to book with?

    realgap.co.uk

i might be intrested in doing 8 weeks as i can get time off for this , but what happens if i get fed up off it or i dislike it?

If you have done it m have u gone on your own or with a friend?

Its hard to find people who have the spare time to do this so ill probably go on my own , just worried incase i hate it when i get there and ive wasted all my money lol its going to cost me around 3 grand in total so want to make sure its right for me

It does look kinda expensive. I worked in the US last year and it cost me $400 for visa and admin fee's and then I had to pay for my own flights so around £545 all in.

Which program are you intrested in?

Anything with animals is kewl , cant make my mind up just yet as i change it every so often lol...... just a bit worried about sharing accommodation as i do like my own space and privacy ,seems a bit expensive considering you are volunteering and they expect you to share , while im not expecting first class treatment , i was hoping for my own room.

I just like a working holiday where i can have fun as well , i dont want to work 7 days a week though , so i have free time to enjoy the area and meet new people

I had a brochure through from www.i-to-i.com today, haven't had a chance to look through, but maybe somewhere you might want to look to compare??

You are going to have to prove that you are able to support yourself ,financial wise, the whole time you are staying if you say you are "just going on holiday" but I would strongly discourage doing this. I'm not sure about the visa thing but I would'nt try and "cheat" the system as there are some very harsh punishments!

Ah ok , just thought it may not be needed if its just volunteer work , but seems after reading website that you have to sort and pay for your own visa , was hoping it was all done for me or that i didnt need one.

Well it is more like a holiday for me , its not paid work and some of them is hardly wot i call work but i still obviously have to declare it , cant see what harsh punishments would be if i wasnt doing anything illegal , worse they can do is send u back home but unlikely for unpaid work? but i understand its stupid of me to try and say im only on holiday , better to just get what i need and not get in lumber

So from what you say im gonna have to fork out another $400 odd just for a visa

Well It totally depends on your visa and how much the sponsor charges. Mine is a J-1 visa valid for 3 months in the US.

Punishments could be to leave the country straight away ( that would mean paying for a flight which will cost alot of money) and it would be very hard for you to enter the country again. I only have knowledge of the US so other countries may be different but I just wanted you to know sooner rather than later:thumbsup:
