Hi, im changing my rear brake discs and pads next week on my vw golf. The question is, what is that plate thats just behind the brake disc. It goes all the way around the disc, like a shield? or stops the brake dust?

Where can i get new one's of them from?

Cheers.

brake back plate, try scrap yard or GSF, Euro Car Parts or last resort main dealer.

On both sides at the rear they are both rusty, when i had my mot i couple of months ago they told me to get them changed. I've looked on euro car parts they don't do them. Is there any where online i could see them? I can't seem to find anything about them.

Could find much on a specific golf but found this ;
justkampers.com/sho…tml

Just looked on them links and they are for Mk3's. I have a Mk4, don't suppose there the same? I will probably just euro car parts when im there getting the other parts.

It's called a Splash Shield, it's about £5 + VAT from VW they stop water splashing the discs and seriously affecting your braking performance. Rust doesn't matter unless they look like they are falling off.
