    reasonable laptop

    Really need help with this - i want a laptop for my husband - he is at uni so it would mainly be used for study rather than gameplay - i know nothing about them but possibly i would like
    - good memory
    wi fi enabled
    easily portable

    Hi not much good either but did notice a laptop earlier posted for £149. thought that was a good price and has 2GB of memory if you scroll through you might find it it was black shinny hope this helps.

    I found it by clicking the new botton not to many pages back though will also seach as well and see if I can find and let you know

    That's a notebook (rather than a laptop) with a 7" screen. If you want a notebook you'd probably be better off paying £20 extra and getting an Acer One from Amazon Notebooks are good buys but you don't get much hard drive space, no CD/DVD player, usually no Windows (the cheapest ones use Linux/Ubuntu) but they're much more portable. I'd say they're fine if you've got regular access to a desktop PC as well - not much good if it's going to be your only PC.

    Laptops (i.e 12+" screens) start around £300. They'll probably go down a bit after Xmas as they got nearer £250 in November and seem to have crept up for the Xmas market.

    If you need to buy now, look for either a Dual Core or (better) Core2Duo processor, at least 1MB RAM and a 120GB Hard Drive preferably from HP, Toshiba, Dell, Acer or other brand name and don't pay over £300. The Toshiba 15.4" Dual Core on Marshall Ward would be OK if you could get it for under £300!
