Reasonable Quality Paper Shredder?

Found 4th Nov 2005
Hi, I notice a few deals have come up in the last year, but none are about now. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a good deal on a reasonable to good quality automatic paper shredder? Thanks in advance!

Well, funny thing I was just looking at a shrtedder offer. It's a strip cut shredder and can shred up to 8 pages at a time. It has auto on for inserting paper/card, continuous, reverse action [to unblock]. Good size waste bin [18 litres] under it too. Might not be the lowest price, but you can get a decent free gift with it if you spend £50 4h-69222 will get you a free electric drill, electric screwdriver, electric sander and drill bits, accessories, pliers all in a plastic case. Or checkout the Staples offers in the forum.

Thanks mate, just what I was after! Ill order it today. Youre Karmas going through the roof!

Just a word of warning about these shredders.

Try to get a "cross cut" rather than the strip cut shredders. People have been known to pice together the strips after shredding - with a cross cut, there is no chane of that.

I got one in Makro not long ago for less than £30

Had a cheapy strip cut for years which gave up the ghost a few months ago. I got a cross cut shredder in Woolworth for £14.95 (Reduced from £29.95), it does the job very well- ideal for home or in my case a home office. I saw them on the same deal in our local store a few weeks ago.

Just checked Woolworth online, still got 1 at £14.99 and also a "Premium" 10 sheet shredder for £35.99

I bought a cross cut paper shredder from Tesco, just had it delivered yesterday. £14.93. I can't compare it to any other shredder of a similar value but it seems to do the job pretty well!. tesco.com/ele…759

Hi, thanks for all the info guys, given that the cross cut ones seem to be more secure, it makes sense to get one of those, especially at £15. Ill let you know how it compares to the normal one we used to have! Thanks for all your efforts!
