Ok, so I've gotta work saturday and by the time I get home the missus will (hopefully) be almost ready to head out with the girls. I'm already planning to watch the football but I was hoping to watch a DVD too. The problem is I can't decide on a good film to watch.

I want to watch a proper Hollywood blockbuster-style action film but I can't make my mind up which one. Can anyone recommend a good title and also the cheapest store I can buy it from (Internet prices are no good as I want to buy it on my way home).

Oh yeah, I'm looking for a standard DVD not HD or Blu-Ray... cheers

Doomsday

Rent out Vantage Point.

have you seen the departed?

Yeah, the Departed was excellent. I was hoping for the sort of film that you can watch without thinking about it too much tho... something like Day After Tomorrow, Godzilla, or Die Hard

Vantage Point looks quite good but I'll save that for when I want to watch something with the missus.

I want to take advantage of having the TV to myself so I can watch the sort of film that the missus turns her nose up at... (a film not porn!)

Tesco's have a lot of dvd's at £3 I bought 2 last night "The Kingdom" and "Training Day"
The also had Transporter 1 & 2, Crank, Goodfellows and lots more

what shops are available would make things easier as you stated 'cheap'

or even the new one if you have decent broadband

American Gangster, Four Brothers are also good films to watch
I always watch this type on my own as is my wife is watching it take twice as long as I have to keep pausing the film to explain "Whose That?" "What is he doing now? " Whats going on ?"

i watched that APOCALYPTO by mel gibson, awesome mayan action movie. english subtitles but visually stunning.

I work in the City Centre so I have access to the usual suspects like Zavvi, HMV, WH Smiths, Woolworths. On my drive home I pass pretty much all the big supermarkets.

APOCALYPTO looks OK but the idea of having to read sub-titles puts me off

I can't be fussed with having to download a film and then burn it to disc. By the time I get home I'll be in a lazy mood and just wanna put my feet up and watch the TV .:lazy:
