Recommendation - connectors for Sky Magic eye kit

hi there, Could anybody recommend the best and cheap type of RF/aerial connectors/adapters?

I bought the SLX Sky Magic eye kit and 10 meters aerial cable to connect 2 TVs.

My Sky+ Box HD has got TWO RF MALE OUTPUTS (1 and 2) and and TV Aerial FEMALE input. And the TVs got the standard aerials inputs.

I need the connectors to be used on the ends of the cables to do the installation. What should I be looking for?

Thanks in advance

Does the cable not already have the connectors attached? When you run it from the RF2 to the aerial input on your tv make sure that you enable power to the RF2 output in the settings on your sky box.

need a cable with male one end female on the other, but currently have male/male?

the cable has no ends at all. I still need to get the connectors. The think is, I don't know what type. Do I have to converter from coaxial to RF, since the cable is coaxial and the input/outputs are RF?

The connections are standard coax ones but by the time you buy the crimping tool to add the connectors (assuming you dont already have one) you might as well buy another cable with them prefitted!

What crimping?
You just buy the correct plugs
Strip the cable back and fit
Plug into the output socket
As said before use the setup on the sky box to enable the voltage to the output, this will provide a voltage to the magic eye

Ive always used crimped connections to get it as good as possible. If you want to settle for crappy connections then thats fine.

No need for crimped connectors, standard fit ones will work just fine.

Yes they will! Just my preference!

I wouldn't know how to crimp a connector, but I know fitting my own the standard way gives a poor connection, and the ends usually fall off, so I'd just pay for a ready made cable

Ok thanks! Where do I get the plugs from? What are they called? What type should I get? Cheers

same as in link: google.co.uk/pro…jgA

most diy places like wilkos b&q etc have them about £1 each

cheers

I bought 10 m ready made cable off e bay for £4.15.

Try this one on e bay. 190475479484. £4.19. All connections attached. Just connect one end to rf2 and other to sky tv link. And make sure that the rf2 output is on and should work fine
