Recommendation for train set for baby boy

My son is 2 and I would like to buy him a train set - am a bit confused with the many on offer. Does anyone have a particular one they can recommend? I liked the Thomas Tank Post Office Loader but I was too late to order it when it was on offerso now have time to consider other options. Thanks

have you tried early learining centre they ahve loads of train sets in there and there not too bad a price and if you buy muller lucky stars yougurts you can get 20% off in the elc stores

I'd recomend a wooden train set. My boys all enjoyed making different track set ups and you can start with cheaper sets such as from tesco and then add more track, accessories and different trains including all the thomas ones as you go along.

in early learning centre they do wooden train sets and they have thomas trains that go on them

i was in home bargins a few days ago and they had some ace brio stuff in a full set with a big octopus bridge was only a tenner,
i would steer clear of the big loader thomas toys as kids cant really interact with them they just go around on a track doing there own thing, very boring a frustrating for a two yr old

I have a young childs train track, £5 plus postage costs, part of the bridge is broken off but the rest are ok. Comes with everything in pic. I have to go out shortly but if you want any further info then I'll be back around 7.30pm

We got the Tesco train set (56 pieces I think) for just under £10 and it's fab, not Thomas though. We also got a Brio starter set (the horse one) from Home Bargains for £7.99 (RRP 29.99).

I just got one 4 my little one and it was from Tesco direct for £9 +quidco, like the one mentioned above sorry cannot find the pic 2 show u, but it's 56 pieces, if u go on some of the deal request pages from last 2 weeks, I think I saw it on there. Hope that helps
