Recommendations for a tablet computer please

Hi guys.

I need to get hold of a tablet for a friend, but have no idea about which band/spec to go for!

It has to have the internet access via a sim as they have no broadband or wifi.

In Cornwall most places are only covered for data by 3, and its even possible to get 4g locally so a tablet capable of this would be cool.

I have looked at Amazon and they seem to all run old versions of Android and am concerned about app availability and sd card access for storing and running apps from.I realise some may be updateable, but have never used or owned a tablet so am unsure.

I would like it to have a good screen because they like movies and if possible half decent speakers (don't know if realistic or not)

I truly don't know where to start and would hate to end up with a lemon.

All help gratefully received.

Cheers

Might be worth considering a mifi device which would supply a wifi connection for up to 10 devices and it would lift the requirement for 4g on the tablet making that cheaper

Thanks buddy...thats a great idea.

I would be happy to do that, so
Could you kind people suggest a 3g one please.

Thanks a lot for your help

Most new ones are locked to supplier but you can unlock them for a pound on eBay.
This is one of the cheaper ones on Vodafone.

Cheers buddy...that's awesome info.
Thanks so much!

I can recommend the ee osprey mifi device even though its 4g it will work with 3g equally as well and comes with 6gb Free data to start you off

amazon.co.uk/EE-…B28

The unlock code for the device are available for 99p from ebay, so it will work with any network providers simcard

ebay.co.uk/itm…368

Then the cheapest available prepaid broadband by simcard without contract is from 3 and its 24gb which will expire after 2 years if not used before hand.

amazon.co.uk/Tri…sim

Sorry can't recommend a tablet for you
