we are looking at getting a leather sofa but wondered if anyone can recommend where to get one from? we are so worried that it will go saggy too quick or look dirty as we want to get an ivory colour.

Try Argos they have a great sale at the moment, just bought a 4 piece two seater settee 3 seater setee and chair and pouffe for my mum in chocolate leather (recommended - all mine are chocolate, had cream before never again) £599
with next day free delivery:)

My recommendation would be buy the cheapest one that you like, then if it gets tatty, you can replace it. If you buy an expensive one with the hope that it lasts longer, you may end up forking out a lot of money to get it repaired if it gets damaged

Lol thanks ctuk.
How good a quality are the ones from argos?

I bought 2 leather sofa's about 5 years ago & they are still looking great. easy to keep clean, just wipe over,
I think if you go for leather then don't go for a 'cheap' quality as this will go 'saggy' quickly:)

Can you every REALLY tell, only time will tell but at £599 and my mum does not want one of the settees, she will sell that one for probaly £100, you cant really go wrong, the last cream one i bought lasted 3 yrs then looked grubby, then I bought brown, they are brilliant, I have 7 leather settees, all brown.:)

we brought a 3 piece chocolate one last year we did pay 2,000 4 it ,but its lovely we clean it with a damp cloth. its best to go to a shop that way you can sit on it and try it out for yourselfs

thanks all for the replies..its just nice to get some feedback before we go looking.

We bought a cream leather 3 seater, 2 seater, footstool and 4 scatter cushions all matching in June 1999.

We paid £1,405.00 and it is still looking great, I leather wipe it once a week and that is it! It has had stuff spilt on it through out the years obviously but it all just wipes off even biro!

We got it from a company called Classic Choice Furnishings Limited, Unit 1, Brynmenyn Industrial Estate, Bridgend. Mid Glamorgan. CF32 9TD Tel 01656725111 Don't know if still going but sure you could find out if interested.

We saw it first at a hotel near Liverpool where they had the complete range on display for a weekend.

Hope this helps.

I agree with other comments, its best to try them out in a store first

Also, best to spend that little bit more and have it last IMO

We have had ours (Dark green) for about 7 years, dog jumping up on it, and still looks new!

You can try tesco...

i agree on having a test with the sofa first. you need to know if it will fit you. all the cheaper sofas i found were too small for me, and didnt have enough lower back support.

i ended up going with a very expensive set from harveys - which took forever to be delivered, but was worth it in the end.

Beware of sitting on cream leather in damp clothes eg coming in from a shower of rain in jeans and sitting on the cream leather can cause the dye from the jeans to leach onto the leather.

I got 2 leather cream sofas from Homebase about 2 years ago, they still look great, I just wipe them over with leather wipes from Wilko (sometimes bogof). In Homebase we were able to test the sofas out before ordering also.

That does happen.......but it will come off, so no diaster

we got ours from land of leather - we have a 5 year guarantee with them - so if recliner breaks or they lose their "puffiness" they just come out and fix it for us

We bought ours from Land of Leather and also paid for 5 years guarantee.

They were ivory and were cleaned only with the leather cleaning kit they gave us with the insurance and then leather wipe when that run out.

The leather started cracking after only 2 years but the insurance people just said that was wear and tear. We then got one stain of the front of one arm which they spray painted over - badly!

We got rid of them purely because of how bad they looked in the end, though they did lose their puffiness quickly.

Anyways, to sum up - do NOT buy cheapy sofas, even with insurance.
And I personally wouldn't recommend cream either as ours did start looking grubby quickly - but that could have been due to the rubbish leather.

land ov leather 3+2 seater recliner in brown + 6seater dinning tabel for free only 1000pounds

Just seen a 3 seater recliner we really like but in chocolate only. Do the mechanics on recliners go wrong?
thanks again for replies.
