Recommendations for tablet to control Wowee Coji

IS there a decently priced tablet available android to control this little chap?

I'm guessing a fire would be decent for it.

Hope this £20 Coji doesn't end up costing you an arm and a leg.

Looks like the Cojiapp is on the Amazon Appstore, you should check first.
If you decide to go with the basic 7" File, I'd recommend spending the extra tenner to get the 16GB RAM version.

juSt to be clear, is the fire an android device and compatible with other playstore apps? or just Amazon Apps.
If the answer is the latter, could you recommend the amazon app library as decent enough to keep my 7 and 9 yr old girls interested in other apps? Cheers for this help, much appreciated. want a white abominable?

My daughter has last year's model of the Fire, and it has about 90% ish of the same apps as Google play store. If you look on Amazon.co.uk you can see the types of apps they have.

As mentioned before the Coji app is on the store as well so it would work with your Cojibot.

    Kinda complicated but...
The Fire is a version of Android but really only works with the Amazon Appstore. It does not support the Google Play because it is designed to promote Amazon services and not Google's. It is a cheap tablet and therefore not as powerful as some others. If you want a cheap serviceable tablet the it is fine. The Fire HD8 is a decent tablet (go for the 32GB RAM version).

If you are not happy with the Amazon option there are loads of devcies out there but I would avoid the cheap no-name brands. There are pretty much universally rubbish.

The Tesco HUDL is worth a look if you can track one down. Tesco have stopped making them. The are compatible with both Google and Amazon
Asus is worth a look at but that is probably a big jump in price.
The "decent" tablets Like Samsung S2 and Google Pixel will cost you upwards of £250.

If you don't mind a basic tablet the the 7" Fire at under £50 is worth it. The HD8 at under 90 is good value. I think you should be able to find the HUDL at around the £50 mark. Your expectations of devices at this price level should be realistic, though.

Thanks for the offer of of the White Abominable but I have one already. Happy to take a Gold Xmas Jumper though

That's the trade off, the Fire has always been a good spec for the price, but if you want you could get better, but with it the price will go up.

Only down side to the Fire is the OS which is undeniably Amazon centric.

well now on hold on phone to amazon app store as first assistant could not confirm it worked even tho i gave her the link to the app!
i dont mind amazon centric o/s as kids wont bee that discerniong. good scrren , decent batt life, 16gb, Bluetooth and wireless and choice of app for kids is what i need. cant think of anything else!

The version of the Coji app on Amazon is the same as the one on Google Play. I have many apps from Amazon on both my Android phone and tablet and never had a problem with compatibility. To all intents and purposes the apps on Amazon are the same as the ones on Google Play.
