Referencing / Bibliography for uni work

Can you add a TV program to your bibliography. Say i watched a documentry on TV, would I be able to reference it?

yes i am sure you can do that. how you would go about the referencing i dont know. but yeh you can

yes. if you are using material from the programme and have watched it first hand then use the first hand reference.

Edit : if you use the material even in your own words and dont reference it then you risk getting marked down for it as its often classed as plagiarism.

    yes 100%

when I referenced films/programmes for my dissertations I put a separate section also, with other media sources or something similar as the heading

I might have been doing it completely wrong, however when I referenced films I would put something along the lines of: Jurassic Park (Spielberg 1993), for example. I would also create a filmography separate from the bibliography for obvious reasons.

    like this ^^^^^

Heres an example if the programme was The Apprentice

This would go in the reference section : The apprentice, (2008), BBC1, 11 June

In your essay or writing the In text citation would go something like - Sir Alan Sugar (The apprentice, 2008) exemplifies…

Would it be bad to say i accessed it from youtube? or is that as bad as using something like wikipedia?

Most tv progs have an entry at imdb now if you need to know director/producer or date when first made.

No because even if it's on youtube, the bbc could still have made it, … No because even if it's on youtube, the bbc could still have made it, where as wikipedia is like George in his shed.

best to try find the original source so if its a film on youtube go direct to the film if its a video made for youtube then use youtube
