    refund on ebay

i want to refund someone on ebay as the postage i charged was alot more than what it cost when ive just posted it, he won 3 items and didnt ask for discount before paying so just wanted to send him abit back, i noticed theres a bit on paypal on the transaction that says refund, do i just do it that way, wasnt sure if i pressed that it would refund him the full amount. thanks

The best thing to do is contact him 1st and then maybe paypal gift him the amount instead.

Click refund in paypal & then it asks you how much you want to refund.

Has he asked for a refund ??

If he's not asked.... i would hold fire....

Fair play to the OP for doing it, perhaps pre-empting a neg when the buyer sees the postage paid by the seller.

i feel abit bad as it was quite abit over what i charged, id rather send him some back.

I always do that if it 's different and send back via paypal gift

this has happened to me a few times now on ebay, i always refund the difference then email the buyer to tell them why you refunded, Ive refunded less then a £1 in the past just to make sure my feedback stays at 100%.
click refund, then enter the amount you want to refund, be careful you dont refund the lot though.

buyer would of taken postage charges into consideration when … buyer would of taken postage charges into consideration when biddingrefund will be seen as getting the items cheaper

i know he must of been happy to pay it but he paid £15 and it was only £5 to send, so its quite a bit over, with them being quite big packages i wasnt sure what to charge and i always send recorded. ive sent him £7.50 back.

Very nice of you pink-ka!! Good to see some honest people around

Packaging materials? The Postage includes postage costs and materials.

If the postage had been listed as £5 instead of £15 it's more than likely … If the postage had been listed as £5 instead of £15 it's more than likely the item would of sold for £10 more (if more than 1 bidder)

i didnt charge £15 he won 3 items with £5 postage each, i would of given him a discount if he would of asked but he just paid. the other £2.50 can go towards my packaging and petrol to the post office.

I think its a good thing you're doing. Don't question your conscience if you know ist right.

Do it, there is no way the buyer would make a negative issue about it!

It's postage, packaging and handling. The price on the stickers does not accurately reflect the total cost.

He accepted the postage costs when he bid/bought the item. It's just an extra bit of profit.

Good on ya OP & what goes around comes around & all that nonsense.

Maybe the buyer does not understand how ebay works & to take advantage of the buyer is also wrong.
Would you then offer a part refund if the buyer then asked you about the postage for the 3 items ?

    Good for you OP....!!

I know i would not of done as the P&P is factored into the price of the sale.

I know its wrong, but to make a few quid of the P&P goes towards the expensive ebay fees!
