    EXPIRED

Reminder: Use last year's free Blinkbox £5 credit(s) by 6/1/15 (?) or lose it...

Got various £5 credits on Blinkbox almost a year ago (I think from HUKD tip off), and any unused credit is due to expire soon - mine are all 6th January - suspect others will be too.

Look on your Blinkbox a/c history at:
    blinkbox.com/acc…ory
    "Use by ... 06/01/15"

If you have credits already expired, don't despair just yet...

    bigredbucket reports below:
"Mine ran out on 19th December - but as for others, no reminders were sent out.
" I complained by email and they immediately re-instated the credit for 7 days to allow me time to spend it."

    & Ch33ky reports below:
"Lost £15, but contacted them via live chat and they credited my account to use within 30 days. Worth a try"

While considering value about to expire, check you RedSpottedHanky Loyalty points too. They are due to expire at year end - ie 31/12 if not redeemed by then!. I lost 800+ last year ie £8 worth

I did put a post on here earlier in the month and it got expired because already raised in Freebies here, but I can't find it now despite knowing it's here somewhere and searching here & Googling.

You'll have RSH Loyalty Points even without realising it - eg if you have spent any HUKD free evouchers or Tesco ClubCard Deals on the RedSpottedHanky site! You can convert each point into 1p to spend on travel at RSH (the new evoucher will be valid to 2020).

Ooops. Sorry to be too late. Perhaps mine were all 6/1 as that was perhaps the LAST DAY for redeeming the free vouchers they offered last Xmas season. So perhaps this reminder will help a few over the next 8 days...

(Once you've spent the soon to expire credit on rentals/purchases the rentals give you 30 days to start watching (& 48hrs to complete)

I guess "Balance £0.00" means I've already used the credit.
I seem to recall there was an Amazing Spider-Man 2 promo that earned more CC points than it cost.

not your fault mate, if anything you've done well to inform us

mine expired on 19.12.2014 by the way. it never stated this on my account else i would have added it to my diary.

Thanks for the warning, otherwise I would have been none the wiser. I don't seem to remember any expiry date on them. Fortunately only had £3.10 left (out of £40) so I won't be on the hotline to Tesco any time soon

    £20 lost

Just checked, I've a credit of £4.49, just enough to rent an HD movie, thanks op

Mine ran out on 19th December - but as for others, no reminders were sent out.
I complained by email and they immediately re-instated the credit for 7 days to allow me time to spend it.

Nice one and thank you for the reminder, my points will now get spent instead of being lost!

    Banned

When ever I wanted to watch a movie on my smart TV i ended watching it on YouTube. saved money but I had £3 left.

Most movies were old any way

lost my £20... crap site anyway... didn't have anything in HD until middle of the year through samsung app, some of the newer films are buy only and can't rent... rubbish... Needless to say I won't be using them again unless it was frew

Lost £15, but contacted them via live chat and they credited my account to use within 30 days.
    Worth a try

They are looking for new backers if memory serves so dont be surprised if it closes early next year

Glad to see the 'spirit of Christmas' is alive and well at Tesco's Blinkbox - pleased to have saved/revived some credit for you guyz!
It is sneaky to have expiry dates without any reminders though - cf RedSpottedHanky and their calendar year loyalty points!
At least Avios, where you can lose a LOT of value, give you an alert when you log-in and have emailed warnings in good time.

    my credits has been expired.
Found out I paid for a movie rental and forgot to watch it. And its gone now as well (need to watch within 30 days)....Thieves

Just spoken via live chat and given 7 days to use credit, better than nothing otherwise would have lost £36

Are you going to buy this film, as it's currently not available to rent on blinkbox?

That was nice of them, as they didn't have to do that.

just checked and hadn't spotted that before.
do these buy only movies become available for rent later on or do they just stay as buy only?

just found a much better movie available for rent, Allies, war action movie.

disappointing looking through blinkbox now as most the new movies are buy only.

Sorry, just saw this. In my experience, all/most 'buy only' films do eventually become available to rent, though sometimes after a few weeks/months.

mutley1 - you can scroll through all films that are available to rent by clicking on MOVIES & TV at the top of the blinkbox home page, then click on Movies on the drop-down list, then click on RENT on the right hand side of the page, near the top.

well, i emailed them and got my £8 back..not good for not informing us but good CS for reinstating the amount for 7 days. will probably buy or rent summat.

the credit don't show expiry date so you can never remember when they run out unless you put it in your diary when first purchased.

I was in that situation in the Autumn - when saw a couple of HUKD voucher postings of 'rent a movie at just 99p' and "Blinkbox" struck a chord and then I saw I had the credits from last Xmas - and saw the expiry dates and put them in my diary.
Glad to help your entertainment budget
