Remove extra's on car insurance near end of policy

Is it possible to remove all the fancy extra's on car insurance policy towards the end of the agreement and recieve a part refund?

e.g. legal cover, hire car, personal accident etc

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: You can, but it'll result in fees for making adjustments on the policy. It also depends on the insurer.

No, they have been there for you to use, even though you did not.

You can remove any paid extra cover however they will charge you for doing so. Which if you are close to the end of your insurance it would be pointless as the fees for cancelling will counter the partial refund.

Not only that but if you then needed them you would regret cancelling them.

Don't see why you couldn't, although with minimal pro-rata value remaining towards the end of the policy plus the policy amendment fee, you will probably incur more fees than refund(s).

Even if they do allow you, there's an administration fee you need to pay when you make changes to the level of cover on your policy. Probably will work out more expensive than just letting it run until the policy expires.
