im getting a anti pollution sensor flashing on my 2004 espace. manual says if flashing then reduce speed til light stops. If light stays on then consult your renault dealer $$$ . When light comes on its because I have put my foot down to much. Im also getting some engine hessitation when this comes on .
ANY IDEAS GUYS??? thanks in advance.

Most probably Lamba sensor problem.

However could be potentiometer ( Switch under accelerator pedal ), Fuel injectors, Catalyst, Air filter, Essentially anything than can cause emissions to be high.

Could even be dodgy fuel.

I had a similar issue with a Fiat Multipla, Had it diagnosed as a cat fault, garage recommended I avoided cheap fuels i,e supermarket brand etc...

I only used Esso, Shell and BP and problem never came back.

Then try disconnecting potentiometer switch under accelerator pedal, Might be hard to reach but that is a common problem with certain cars.

The engine hesitation could be the car going into limp mode, Can you rev it above 2000 rpm?

Failing that it might be worth you having it hooked up to a diagnostic's machine, Have the ecu reset and pray it doesn't come back.

That way at least you'll most probably have the fault codes and have a better idea at what's causing the problem, Another thing you could ask is for the emission's be checked to see if they are high.

thanks again for the advise.. big thanks pal

My guess it being the DPF filter, is it a diesel?

the time i felt the hesitation i was accelerating from a roundabout down a motorway, got to 60 and then the prob began. It seems to happen when you put your foot down in say 4/5/6 gear when going slow, it prefers the higher revs to get to whatever speed. IE If I was going at 40 and put my foot almost flat down in 6th gear it would come on.

Not the DPF then

extremly easy fix.... remove dash board and take out bulb

It'd be bad if you took out the fuel low warning button!

A friend had a problem with an old car of his, lots of lights kept appearing, nothing dangereous though. In the end he ended up taking the speedo out removed the "faulty" lights lol... Rather than putting it back together, he continued to drive a further 10K miles before putting it back! the cheek of him. So glad i did not buy it..... think it was a renault espace... you know the big ones... grand if you will kidding it was a ford escort lol
