replacing teeth that have fell out

my old man broke his tooth, and the rest of the tooth left behind was removed by one of those hospital emergency places

anyways he was told that was it, done and dusted but surely some sort of bridge needs to be placed there, as @ the moment he has what i can only describe as a hole where the tooth once was (which im geussing will heal) but is it true as the tooth is at the tooth closer to the back its not and inportant tooth so there is no need for any more to be done ??

So you're going to take the advice of an internet forum rather than the trained medical professionals ??

if it's at the back, not an issue to get replaced, just got back from the dentist for the same thing and for the sake of one tooth and £196 it's not worth replacing

its not taking advice from one person over another its, just his appointment with the dentist is not for another month, and the person who told him the above stated they was an emergency only dentist so couldnt offer cosmetic advice, so its more of a question so that he can find ut his option's in the mean time + can you 100% no there aint a dentist who uses this forum ?????

cheers coddfather, rep left, i dont think he is to worried more worried about the teeth either side of it breaking due to being made weaker, but im sure he will find out 100% at his appointment

the out of hours dentist is only there alleviate pain and distress (in emergencies) they will not replace teeth or any other cosmetic dental work, that is for your normal dentist either it be NHS or private, it will still cost

all depends how much you wanna pay.......you can have false teeth "screwed" into the gums or removable false teeth. if on nhs they will go cheapest/easiest option if you go private they can "rebuild" the tooth for you....

all about the money at the end of the day

yea he's got an appointment next month with a private dentist, i think its more worrying him as to what will need doing and what wont etc.

i think he is looking @ the option of having them screwed into the gum as its one of three teeth that over time has broken or been chipped

I have a couple of gaps in my teeth, both of them near the back of the mouth. No-one can see them unless they're looking closely, so I'm not concerned about it. I was asked if I wanted to 'plug' the gaps, I said no as I couldn't see a need to do so.

I find these kind of responses really immature. Of course they're not only taking advice of a forum, however there are a large number of members on this site and someone might have had a similar experience and could offer advice.

    Grow up.

I find your response really boring. It's a public forum and people are entitled to write whatever responses they see fit. If you don't like it then you are welcome to leave and never come back, and leave the site to us adults who aren't so naive about things. They obviously are taking the advise of this forum, hence their OP. Me, i'd rather speak to the medical professional than someone claiming to know, but hey, each to their own

If you want to get some expensive dentistry done I would seriously think about taking a break in Krakow, Poland.. First class dentists at a fraction of the price you would pay in the UK and no waiting lists. never done it myself but must be worth looking into
