Replacing timing chain on focus

Was just wondering, i own a ford focus 1.8 tdi,does the timing chain ever need replacing the cars done 58,000 miles and is 5yrs old, i have heard that u shouldnt need to replace it,does anybody know if thats true

chains only need chainging if they develop a problem unlike timing belts that have intervals to replace.

The chain should last the life of the engine. They do need replacing on occasion but only if something else is amiss imo.
