ive got to return something to amazon and have arranged with DHL to pick it up on thursday, i dont have a printer to print off the returns label, im confused with all the emails amazon have sent me as to what to do with no printer, i think i read in one of the emails that i need to enclose a piece of paper with the order number on, my email address and reason for return, also what do i stick to the outside of the package as i cannot print off the barcode or do i just leave it blank and dhl will stick something to it, im just worried about it going missing then amazon charge me for it, thanks

surely you know someone with a printer or print it at a library

I think you'll need to find a printer from somewhere.... a friend or the local library perhaps?
I haven't had any items returned by DHL before but I have returned things via post and they give you a label that you need to stick to the package, and you can't just write the address as there's a barcode they scan when it arrives in their returns centre.
They also ask you to print a piece of paper and stick it inside which contains another barcode and your reason for return (presumably so they can test it if neccessary).
As far as I know, there's no way to return it without printing this stuff but maybe call amazon on their UK helpline and see what they say?

on the email i got it said if you havent got a printer then do blah blah blah, but i cant find the email now. im pretty sure it said to just include order number, email address and reason for return on a piece of paper inside. its what goes on the outer packaging i cant remember.
well in that case write that on a piece of paper and on the outside just write the returns address. that might be enough.

search harder for the email and read what it says after "if you haven't got a printer.."

this might be of help...

"If you cannot print the label, please include the payslip (the original or a copy) or a piece of paper with the name of the person who ordered the items, the order number and the reason for the return. The address to where the item is to be returned will be provided."

I've returned many things to Amazon without printing anything off. I also don't have a printer. I just write the full return addess on the outside, big/clearly. I also write the barcode number somewhere towards the bottom (it's there so they can input it if the scanners aren't working, so it IS available, if they choose to bother.) Always put your own house number and postcode somewhere so if it goes astray it may come back to you. Make sure the packing slip is anclosed with all the relevant info written on it. I've never returned stuff via a courier before, only the PO, so they MAY bring a sticker, but I doubt it. Do it all yourself as much as you can, and then you're covered.

Because it was damaged on arrival or faulty. Over the years I have had lots of dealings with their returns section. One toy went back eight times before I gave up on it altogether.
