Richardson Sheffield 'Balance' Knives

Found 28th Oct 2009
I've found a set of these knives in a local store for quarter of the price of most online stores, at only £50 instead of £160-190. They seem to be the old style knife block so I'm guessing they're cheap because they've been discontinued. I was looking for some Henckels or globals but they seem a bit out of my price range. Does anyone have any experience with these knives as I'm thinking about getting them for christmas =]

I have Richardson Sheffield knives....................fantastic - I got them as a gift years and years ago when I bought my first flat and still going strong 20 yrs later. Mines though are not the balance knives but do recommend that range.

That really is an amazing price btw

we got these as a wedding gift couple of years ago

they are great, but we didnt get the block

£200 seems OTT

There's no way the RRP is correct - they're decent enough knives from what I understand, but you'd get a set of semi-pro ones for that RRP.

Yeah I guessed the same regards to rrp, most places that I've came accross sell the set for around £160, or individual knives for £20-30ish, I've never came accross them for much cheaper. They had some other sets as well, but I haven't heard of them before. The other ranges from Richardson Sheffield seem to be around the same price too but a couple are as cheap as £70.

I might go ahead and get them hearing from the good reviews here =]

Better off with ]these mate - far superior and if you hunt around you might get them for what I paid - around £175.

The difference is those are £170-90 and the ones I'm getting are £50! Quite a big price difference lol
