# riddle - anyone explain?

Found 11th Jul 2008
3 men split the price of a hotel room = £30 - £10 each

after taking the money the receptionist realises she has made a mistake and should of charged just £25

She takes the £5 up to the room and the men thank her for her honesty and as its an odd amount take £1 each and let her keep the other £2

so after paying £10 then a £1 refund each, the 3 men paid £9 each for the room - £27, then gave the receptionist £2 amounts to £29

so what happened to the other £1??

£27 minus the £2 they gave to the receptionist is £25

£27 plus the £3 they got back is £30

£27 - £2 = £25

i posted one like this before.

oh my dad used to tell one like this about 3 men in a cafe and i still cant get my head around it and i know its wrong!

there is no other £1...

total cost of room was £25, plus £1 to each of them (£28) and £2 to receptionist = £30

but after paying a tenner then a pound refund each paid nine, 3 x 9 = 27 + 2 = 29

£30 for a room is extremely cheap.

Brilliant.

Loupomm As you say, they paid a total of £27.00. The room cost £25.00.
£27.00 - £25.00 = £2.00 which the maid got.

but they gave her £ £30 originally , room then costs £25 so £5 is refunded , they then take a quid each (makes it £28 in total plus the £2 for the maid = £30

they paid £10 each minus £1 back =£9 x 3 = £27 + £2 (maid) = £29 so wheres the other quid gone??

Are you serious?

O.K. one last time.
They paid £30.00.
They got back £1.00 each.
They paid a total of £27.00 after their refund.
The room cost £25.00.
£27.00 - £25.00 = £2.00.

How much did the maid get. Yes £2.00.

No extra quid.
