Absolutely robbing gets !!!!!!!!. No wonder they are so much due to the mark-up of more than 4,750 per cent. I'm buying another brand, sick of this rip off

Article here: dailymail.co.uk/new…tml

The products sold by Gillette and other companies cost as little as 5p to make, industry insiders have revealed.
But consumers are charged up to £2.43 a piece - a mark-up of more than 4,750 per cent.

Welcome to the world of business.:)

You'd probably never buy another thing if you knew the mark up on it.

This is not an isolated incident by any means.

jog on boy...... come back when your old enough to shave

It makes sense to me. Its like saying a PS3 Game disk only costs £0.10 to make, but the money needed to develop the game which is millions has to be recouped by selling the games at £50.

Same with Gillette they advertise alot, and have spent alot of money developing the 'perfect' shave. Hence why they have to sell it at such an inflated priced to pay for all that.

I bet a well known competitors has paid for this to be put in the papers, anyway

Cost of manufacture is a tiny part of the overall product cost, I'd bet with Gillette the vast majority is advertising and sponsorship (think how many Gillette adverts you see and the kind of stars the get to appear on them). I suspect '5p' is raw materials only - also excluding the tooling and r&d costs - if you were to consider, for example, computer processors, in that way, the raw material cost of silicon is going to be even less - but then the tooling and r&d costs several billion for each fab...

That all said, Gillette blades are still a complete rip-off!

Gillette aren't the only ones - look at anything with a designer label......

if you dont like the price dont buy, you will just miss out on the best … if you dont like the price dont buy, you will just miss out on the best shave you can have

Seriously????

go to a proper barbers and ask for a real shave

best shave at home then

They're expensive for sure, but they're still a reasonable price. Ignoring the fact that they're the best product by a long, long way, they also last ages. I think even the box says that each blade should last about 3 months. Four in a pack, a pack's £8, so that's a year's worth of top-class shaving for under a tenner. What's wrong with that?

Aren't those the blades where it's scarily easy to slip and slice your ear off, though? And how do they cope with spots?

"Ignoring the fact...." is a pretty poor way of inserting bias - you neither ignored it, nor is it a fact.

They also do not last 'ages', and certainly no where near 3 months - maybe for a teenage boy who needs to shave off his bumfluff once a fortnight - but not for anyone with coarse facial hair who needs a regular shave.

So in four years time it will have paid for itself and you'll have closer shaves. Still a no brainer.

A real man doesn't shave!

A beard grows naturaly on a man's face.
It doesn't grow on a woman's face.
So, any man who shaves can only be doing it to look like a woman.

Think about it.

your banned lol!
