Actually, the reduction in VAT from Monday would only reduce the price by 21p ;-) (2.13%)

A brief explanation:
If selling price is £10 incl. of VAT @ 17.5%, price excluding VAT is £8.52
(Remembering VAT should always be rounded down to the nearest penny)

£8.52 plus VAT @ 15% = £9.79

Does this mean the sale stock doesn't get the reduction??

rubbish deal...making you think they're giving you something....IT'S REQUIRED BY LAW...all they are doing is being up front and discounting the price at the tills to avoid changing price labels et....some other retailers aren't even doing this and THEY are saving cos they pay less vat to the government....

if you want to give your customers a deal...do what M&S did, BHS and Debenhams and all the "real" retailers in the market.
River Island SUCKS big time....deal...I see no deal!
