ROGER FEDERER TOTALLY SMUG CANT ACCEPT LOSING TO A BETTER PLAYER!

Anyone here understand why roger federer is always classed as a gentlemen and an honest sportsmen, as usual he has excuses and heres his latest stubborness that he is still the best even after defeat.

"I don't have huge complaints but obviously there were some missed opportunities, because you'll always have plenty against him on clay. So if you lose, you always look at those," reflected the Swiss.

"I'm the one that's playing with smaller margins, so obviously I'm always going to go through a few more ups and downs, whereas Rafa is content doing the one thing for the entire time.

"So it's always me who's going to dictate play and decide how the outcome is going to be. If I play well, I will most likely win. If I'm not playing so well, that's when he wins.

there you go if fed playing well he wins hahahahaa

I do agree with one thing though. If Federer plays well then he does win. The greatest tennis player of all time.

Where did this quote come from?

Wow, so many unforced errors from Federer.

You missed this though from the article - "But I thought Rafa played well. I think he dug deep to come back in the first set and get himself into the match. And also the second set".

I am tipping Federer for Wimbledon.

first set he shud of won, 2nd tiebreaker he lost too easily, but Nadal will be the best Tennis player ever.

Defo smug! " look at me i speak numerous languages that are same anyway".

Nadal took the **** out of him "bonjour now English or Spanish ?" then just like the tennis, was condescending him unashamedly! X)

Just can't stand that djokovic - he's been in the way of this game for a while!

Fine line between confidence and arrogance.

He could just play English Open for net 5 years surpassing Borg and this clown's record. Isn't Rafa also on for the Slam this year a la Lendl!

Personally think the plastic courts are a waste of time; Clay and Grass are where the technicalities really show!

Apparently Nadal to be made freeman of Stoke; Man's a genius with clay!.

He's a smug bordering arrogant winner and a pretty poor loser!. If it's not a 'niggle' it's his game wasn't there blah blah.

This is the same guy who pulled out of Swiss national service in 2003 because of a bad back! He won his first Slam the same year!

Nadal is the greatest ever - beaten the 'GOAT' on all surfaces, smashed him on his own surface aswell and demolished the seconD-best challenges.

LEGEND!

i suppose fed could always look at the positives, this time he took a set and almost 2, in last french final they met he won only 4 games including a 6-0 doughnut against him lol

Every generation has "the greatest ever", it's banded about far too frequently these days in all sports.

Sports stars have training, equipment, diet and lifestyles far far better than those of 10,20,30,40,50,60 years ago!

This is what people like you and the OP don't understand - sometimes you have to be a pretty horrible person to be the best. You sometimes have to be arrogant.

If Federer didn't think that on his day he could beat Nadal then what would be the point in competing?

The average and mediocre will always be there to tear you down when you succeed.

All of them will have had a hardness. Sometimes that will be seen as being a 'bad loser'.

But when people like you are ready to criticise them you can see why they have to develop this type of shell. It's easy to be you, because nobody expects anything of you.

its simple, keep your arrogant thoughts to yourself be graceful in defeat and come back fighting, not make excuses, another fed example of excuses here when he lost to berdych at wimby.

Federer had said: 'I've been feeling bad for the last two, three matches. I am struggling with a little bit of a back and a leg issue.'

He claimed his back and right leg problems began at a tournament in Halle, Germany, last month, where he lost the final to Lleyton Hewitt.

'That never quite really went away,' he said. 'It came back a little bit after the first-round match and then went away again and just kept creeping back sometimes during the matches.

'When you're hurting, it's a combination of many things. You just don't feel as comfortable. You can't concentrate.'
Federer also, somewhat bizarrely, insisted that the match had slipped through his fingers.

'I had my chances. I was just not playing well enough. When he had to, he was able to come up with some good stuff. But I definitely gave away this match,' he added. An unimpressed Berdych replied: 'You can say that he was unlucky or you can say maybe the opponent was a little better.'

The injuries would explain Federer's failure to impress in this tournament, but not his poor form since winning the Australian Open in January. There was no sign of injury in his first round, when he fought back from two sets down, or in subsequent matches.

Thing is, Federer is so smug when he wins.. I don't mind a bad loser but bad winners put me right off...

Federer missed a LOT of chances yesterday. I had it down as a 3-0 Nadal, and probably should of been.

Bookies took a hit in the Semi's though, prices almost up to 5/1 for Federer to beat Djokovic, and that was before a ball was hit.

He's been dominating the tennis world for the 7-8 years, it's only the last couple Nadal has been competing in the same league.

Federer is the greatest player to play tennis so far.

A bad call might have cost him the first set, his serve was def on the line if you rewind/ pause /play it you can clearly see the white of the line smudge from some contact from the ball..(adv Nadal co's of it)

Federer is not as good (well his form is not as good) as he used to be but don't believe the media interpretations of interviews especially any words from Federer* pasted into an article about Nadal :lol

Most true champions are arrogant. Djokovic is very arrogant. Modesty gets you no where.

Pretty pathetic from Federer. If he wasn't playing his best then there is a reason for that - Nadal was not letting him.

Filthy and Fury being, well, just that.
Nadal whenever he comes across a certain Andy Murray always endures the stupid 'I can beat Nadal' - which he has, in 3 sets - and whatever the result, Nadal is always the true champion that he is with either words of consolation or congratulations, unlike Roger who has weeped more than once!

Both players have the advantages - and Borg was hardly a timber merchant! - and the ability to train; the very best just train harder and it took Murray a while to work that out though these two have always been in prime shape, well, almost, Nadal has burnt himself out in recent years having started at 17 thus not even allowing his body to fully develop.

This argument is void as it isn't as it's not as if there's anybody ever using a wooden roundhead racquet anymore, is there ?.

Yeah, there are greats in every era but these two greats- plus Djokovic - have only previously been matched by perhaps the trio of Connors, McEnroe and Borg, and they were pretty close in most games but Nadal has pummelled the 'GOAT' by virtue of titles on all surfaces including both his own and opponents forte!.

Quoted for the truth...........Nadal just spends his whole time running along the base line. Not great tennis to watch but he sure is good at it.

Exactly. You're putting yourself out there with a chance you could fail in front of millions. That takes guts and you have to be confident that you are the best.

Federer can be as arrogant as he wants because he has 16 Grand Slams to back it up, 67 Titles in total and over $60 million in tour earnings.

So you haters can kind of suck it.

"punjab" Don't think we can class Djokovic the same as Federer and Nadal. Only the amount of slams decide how great a player is. The latter are class acts but i don't get "syzable's" opinion that Nadal's not great to watch???? Probably the best to watch..

Original Poster

i think the 3 of them are good to watch, fed for his suave silky play, nadal for pure grunt and determination with unimaginable winners, and djoko for flat out hitting. the worst player to watch is Andy missary. Negative boredom tactics - he will make a mistake before me style.
